Large Translucent Walkway Princess Alexander Hospital Brisbane Queensland
This recently completed project will help you understand the benefits of our 74mm polycarbonate system. Everbright E610 Ice White was used recently at the Princess Alexander Hospital Cancer Care Brisbane, QLD. This new development incorporated 1 x large Everbright E610 translucent walkway in multiple sections.
The Everbright product free spanned 3.5mtr and our panels were set at a 3 degree pitch. The Everbright panels incorporated locking System LS2.2. See design loads, which shows you in more detail the different locking systems available. These panels were supplied in complete lengths of 3.5mtr x 90mtr long. Total project size 315sqm. Installation time for this project was three days and three tradesmen were available on site to do the associated works.
The design brief for this development was for a modern looking translucent product, that could minimize structural requirements, was fully trafficable and have a long life span. The client's specifications were for a product that was self cleaning, impact resistance, had superior thermal and acoustic performance characteristics. Another key factor was for a product that was rapid to construct, due to a stringent construction program.
Another important consideration due to the nature of the facility was for a product that had superior fire performance characteristics. Our product was selected due to the heavy duty nature of our 74mm polycarbonate panels and our products resistance to hazardous fire conditions. Our product does not ignite, produce flaming droplets or release dangerous smoke emissions in the extreme fire situations.
The Everbright E610's increased free span capabilities, made our polycarbonate system an excellent choice for this project giving the desired effect, as it is one of the strongest translucent materials available in the world today.
Our premiere product enhanced this development with its clean modern look and now provided a comfortable environment for all the staff and visitors at the hospital. Our 74mm polycarbonate system gives a unique visual appearance and modern uniformed look making use of all the natural light available.
Ice white was the colour selected due to a 55% percent light transmission for visible light.
The Everbright E610 panels only needs to be joined every 600mm on site this makes the installations process very rapid.
Our polycarbonate system give a seamless and continuous line, with no steel frame work spoiling the visual effect. Everbright E610's integral locking bars hide the aspect of where a panel starts and where it finishes, so it becomes a continuous system giving a uniformed and conformed design feature. Creating an architectural flare, that isn't possible with any other polycarbonate system available on the market. Our system only needs to be secured with washer and screw fixings provided to both the lower and higher end of the panels, all the joints are self sealing once the integral locking bar is fitted.
Makrolon 1243 is the material used in our polycarbonate roofing system, which is part of the worldwide Bayer Group. Everbright E610 comes with a manufacture's worldwide 10 year warranty and the panels have a life expectancy in excess of 35 years.
The construction process is very simple and is less time consuming to install on site. We can advise that there was a significant cost saving on the structure requirements with our system on this project.
Everbright E610 polycarbonate panels incorporate as standard detailing an excellent safety factor. All loading criteria are based on 0.75kN/sqm and a 50% safety factor as part of a standard specification detailing.
