Everbright Skylight Bendigo Accident & Emergency Victoria
This recently completed project will help you understand the benefits of our 74mm polycarbonate system. Everbright E610 Clear was used recently at Bendigo Accident & Emergency Victoria. Our product was featured as a skylight in the new ambulance bay. The Everbright panels incorporated locking system LS1. See design loads, which shows you in more detail the different locking systems available. These panels were supplied in complete lengths of 1.3mtr lengths and in 600mm wide configurations.
Installation time for this project was 4 hours and there was one tradesmen available on site to do the associated works.
The design brief for this development was for a modern looking translucent system, that would provide clear unsupported spans. An important consideration due to the nature of the facility was for a product that had superior fire performance characteristics. Our product was selected due to the heavy duty nature of our 74mm polycarbonate panels and our products resistance to hazardous fire conditions. Our product does not ignite, produce flaming droplets or release dangerous smoke emissions in the extreme fire situations.
The specification also stipulated a system that was fully trafficable, without requiring the need for safety mesh to be installed underneath, as with traditional products spoiling the visual appearance. Additional clients instructions were for a product that had superior thermal and acoustic performance. Another key factor was for a product which has a long life span. Makrolon 1243 is the material used in our polycarbonate roofing system, which is part of the worldwide Bayer Group.
Everbright E610 comes with a manufactures worldwide 10 year warranty and the panels have a life expectancy in excess of 35 years.
Clear was the colour selected with 73% light transmissions.
The Everbright E610's increased panel strength, made our polycarbonate system an excellent choice for this project giving the desired effect, as it is one of the strongest translucent materials available in the world today. Our premiére product enhanced this development with its clean modern look and provided a comfortable environment for all the staff at the hospital. Our 74mm polycarbonate system gives a unique visual appearance and modern uniformed look making use of all the natural light available.
The Everbright E610 panels only needs to be joined every 600mm on site this makes the installations process very rapid.
Our polycarbonate system give a seamless and continuous line, with no steel frame work spoiling the visual effect. E610 Integral locking bars hide the aspect of where a panel starts and where it finishes, so it becomes a continuous system giving a uniformed and conformed design feature. Creating an architectural flare, that isn't possible with any other polycarbonate system available on the market. Our system only needs to be secured with washer and screw fixings provided to both the lower and higher end of the panels, all the joints are self sealing once the integral locking bar is fitted. Other systems would necessitate the need for a framed grid work support system across the entire roof.
Everbright E610 polycarbonate panels incorporate as standard detailing an excellent safety factor. All loading criteria are based on 0.75kN/sqm and a 50% safety factor as part of a standard specification detailing.
The installation process is very rapid and simple with our polycarbonate system. We can also advise that there was a significant cost saving on the structure requirements on this project.
