This recently completed project will help you understand the benefits of our 74mm polycarbonate system and shows the versatility of our system.

Everbright E610 opal was used as 2 x 6mtr barrel vaults at the corner of Gibson & George Street Mandurah Perth WA. The free span was 6mtr with our locking system LS1. Locking system LS1 simply means there are 6 polycarbonate locking bars required out of every 6 chambers. See design loads, which shows you in more detail the different locking systems available.

This project consisted of two areas of 44sqm, the curved panel length was 6.355mtr x 3.5mtr x 2.

The geometry details on this project were:
Span 6.007mtr / Radius 7.500mtr
Receiving angle 23 degrees
Midpoint height 628mm
Curved length with eaves 6.355mtr
Length of eaves 75mm

Our panels simply clip together making the installation process very rapid, as our product only requires to be joined every 600mm on site.

The design brief for this development was for a modern looking translucent system, which would utilise all the natural light available. The design intention for these barrel vaults was to create a clean modern look, with minimal structure and provide a comfortable environment for owners of the new apartments.

Other considerations was for a product that was self cleaning, impact resistance, had a long life span and superior thermal performance.

The clients specifications was for a system that would provide as much natural light as possible for this development. Everbright E610's increased free span capabilities, made our polycarbonate system an excellent choice for this development giving the desired effect, as it is one of the strongest translucent materials available in the world today.

The construction process with Everbright E610 is very simple and is less time consuming to install on site. We can advise that there was a significant cost saving on the structure requirements with our system on this project.

Our polycarbonate system give a seamless and continuous line, with no steel frame work spoiling the visual effect. E610 Integral locking bars hide the aspect of where a panel starts and where it finishes, so it becomes a continuous system giving a uniformed and conformed design feature. Creating an architectural flare, that isn't possible with any other polycarbonate system available on the market. Other systems would necessitate the need for a framed grid work support system across the entire roof. On this project our system only needed to be secured to both sides of the eaves structure, all the joints are self sealing once the integral locking bar is fitted.

E610 polycarbonate panels incorporate an excellent safety factor. All loading criteria are based on 0.75kN/sqm and a 50% safety factor as part of a standard specification detailing.
