Curved Walkways/ Hollywood Hospital Nedlands Perth Western Australia

This project was finished recently, and this will help you understand the benefits of our system.
You will be able to see how quick the installation process is with our 74mm polycarbonate system, and how construction time is dramatically reduced. Installation time on this project was 2 weeks and two men were available on site. The timber packer was already installed prior to the Everbright installation, at a 50mm height and receiving angle of 13.5 degrees for our panels.

Everbright E610 Opal was installed at the new development at Hollywood Private Hospital, Nedlands, Perth, WA. Everbright E610 was extruded and supplied in various 2.66mtr,2.92mtr, 3.21mtr and 3.76mtr curved panel lengths and in 700mm configurations. Our panels simply clip together making the installation process rapid, as our product only requires to be joined every 600mm on site. For this development our system was used incorporating Locking System 1 (see design loads) and there was a requirement for a 250mm over hang, with a curving radius of 3.55mtr.
The total area was 546sqm.

1) Eastern Walkway curved panel length @ 2.66mtr x 116mtr with a midpoint rise of 227mm = 308.56sqm.

2) Northern Walkway curved panel length @ 3.21mtr x 41mtr with a midpoint rise of 332mm = 131.61sqm.

3) Southern Walkway curved various panel lengths @ 2.92mtr x 22mtr and 3.76mtr x 11mtr with a midpoint rise of 273mm and 456mm = 105.60sqm.

The brief from our client for this project was for a product that was very modern, extremely durable with a long life expectancy. Our system was also selected in order to provide complete weather protection to the entire area, while maintaining the ambient light. Another key factor for the selection for our system was its superior thermal performance that dramatically keeps heat levels down. Additionally our product has great appeal due to its unique modern appearance and self cleaning dome shape profile.
Since less structure is required with our system less shadows are created, and as such the natural light translucency is at its full potential.
E610 panels incorporate as standard a 75mm drip nose. This is manufactured on the sheets in the factory at either end for barrel vault roofs. The drip nose is incorporated into the top layer of our polycarbonate panels thus keeping the roof 100% weather tight.

Locking System LS1 7.7kg/sqm with a dead load of 0.078kN/sqm.

E610 polycarbonate panels incorporate as standard detailing an excellent safety factor. All loading criteria are based on 0.75kN/sqm and a 50% safety factor as part of a standard specification detailing.

Our polycarbonate system give a seamless and continuous line, with no steel frame work spoiling the visual effect. E610 Integral locking bars hide the aspect of where a panel starts and where it finishes, so it becomes a continuous system giving a uniformed and conformed design feature. Creating an architectural flare, that isn't possible with any other polycarbonate system available on the market. Other systems would necessitate the need for a framed grid work support system across the entire roof. On this project our system only needed to be secured to both sides of the eaves structure, all the joints are self sealing once the integral locking bar is fitted.

Our 74mm polycarbonate panels are also fully trafficable, which makes a huge difference to construction time, and helps with general service and maintenance of the roof.
The construction process with E610 is very simple and is less time consuming to install on site. We can advise that there was a significant cost saving on the structure requirements with our system on this project.
