Everbright Awning Tompkins Park Recreation Centre Perth Western Australia

Unique Appearance

This recently completed project will help you understand the benefits of our 74mm polycarbonate system. Everbright E610 Opal was used recently at Tompkins Park Recreation Centre Perth WA. This new upgrade incorporated a large Everbright E610 translucent awning at the rear of this facility. The awning consisted of tapering panel lengths falling into a central box gutter. The Everbright panels incorporating locking System LS1. See design loads, which shows you in more detail the different locking systems available. These panels were supplied in varying panel lengths and in 600mm wide configurations. Total project size 90sqm.

Installation time for this project was one day and there were two tradesmen available on site to do the associated works.

The design brief for this development was for a modern looking translucent product, that was extremely strong, due to high winds from the Swan River since being open to the elements. The client's also required a system that was impact resistance, due to flying objects from sporting activities at the centre.
Additional other client's specifications were for a product that was self cleaning, impact resistance, had superior thermal and acoustic performance characteristics.Another key factor was for a product that was rapid to construct, therefore keeping disturbance down to a minimum.

The Everbright E610's increased panel strength, made our polycarbonate system an excellent choice for this project giving the desired effect, as it is one of the strongest translucent materials available in the world today. The Everbright product is suitable for all cyclonic regions and has passed the AS4040.3 cyclone test at James Cook University Cyclone in Townsville QLD.
Our product successfully passed the AS4040.3, results as follows:

  • Wind load test AS4040.3, 2385mm double span, test pressure 3.33kPa, design pressure 3.00kPa
  • Wind load test AS4040.3, 1855mm double span, test pressure 5.56kPa, design pressure 5.00kPa
  • Concentrated load test AS4040.1, 4380mm single span, test passed

Our premiére product enhanced this development with its clean modern look and now provides a comfortable environment for all the staff and sporting clubs who use this facility.
Our 74mm polycarbonate system gives a unique visual appearance and modern uniformed look making use of all the natural light available.
Opal was the colour selected due to a 65% percent light transmission for visible light

The Everbright E610 panels only needs to be joined every 600mm on site this makes the installations process very rapid. Everbright E610 comes with a manufactures worldwide 10 year warranty and the panels have a life expectancy in excess of 35 years.

Our polycarbonate system give a seamless and continuous line, with no steel frame work spoiling the visual effect. Everbright E610's integral locking bars hide the aspect of where a panel starts and where it finishes, so it becomes a continuous system giving a uniformed and conformed design feature. Creating an architectural flare, that isn't possible with any other polycarbonate system available on the market. Our system only needs to be secured with washer and screw fixings provided to both the lower and higher end of the panels, all the joints are self sealing once the integral locking bar is fitted.

Everbright E610 polycarbonate panels incorporate as standard detailing an excellent safety factor. All loading criteria are based on 0.75kN/sqm and a 50% safety factor as part of a standard specification detailing.

The construction process is very simple and is less time consuming to install on site.
