Dalkeith Residential Perth Western Australia

Free span 2.4mtr

This recently completed project will help you understand the benefits of our 74mm polycarbonate system and shows the versatility of our system.

Everbright E610 clear was used as an indoor /outdoor living area in a residential development in Dalkeith, Perth WA. E610 free spanned 2.4mtr incorporating Locking System LS1 in a gable roof arrangement, requiring no intermediate supports. Locking system LS 1 simply means there are 6 polycarbonate locking bars required out of every 6 chambers. See design loads, which shows you in more detail the different locking systems available.

The design brief for this development was for a modern looking system that would provide as much natural light as possible to the centre of the house. That would additionally provide the flexibility of independent or integrated indoor /outdoor living space and be usable all year round.

This simple roof frame parallel beam construction, minimizes roof framing and shadows.
The indoor/outdoor area consisted of an area 5.0mtr x 5.0mtr where the Everbright system comfortably spaned the distance to form the gable roof with full length ridge vent in a north, south direction.
The gable ends were designed with louvre windows for cross flow ventilation purposes.
Bi-folding doors on the north and south also helped improve the cross flow ventilation and additionally provided independent/ integrated comfortable living space.
This unique structure complements principals of passive solar design and retrofit to residence applications.

Additionally our system is rapid to install, keeping disruption down to a minimum.

This made our polycarbonate system an obvious choice for this development and was a surprisingly affordable alternative. Due to our system been manufactured in Western Australia and readily available from stock.

Our polycarbonate system give a seamless and continuous line, with no steel frame work spoiling the visual effect. E610's integral locking bars hide the aspect of where a panel starts and where it finishes, so it becomes a continuous system giving a uniformed and conformed design feature. Creating an architectural flare, that isn't possible with any other polycarbonate system available on the market.

E610 polycarbonate panels incorporate an excellent safety factor. All loading criteria are based on 0.75kN/sqm and a 50% safety factor as part of a standard specification detailing.
